TMJ - González Tuñón

Improving structures

Our goal is to achieve an equilibrium of the masticatory system, creating healthy conditions, based on a harmonic relationship between dental occlusion, the musculature, the temporomandibular joint and the central nervous system.

For the treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders, headaches, bruxism (grinding of the teeth), etc. we offer our patients multiple resources, the most popular being dental splints, joint physiotherapy, and electrical physiotherapy, termin and laser techniques.

Dental splints

Treatment using a dental splint or bite plate lets us protect and improve the functioning of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), correcting grinding, pain and accumulated tension (tension headaches), preventing the natural wearing down of the tooth produced by grinding.

Physiotherapy is very important to ensure the proper functioning of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), and the proper functioning of the muscles and joints involved in the temporomandibular joint, by means of the application of dynamic exercises of said muscles.

Pharmacological treatment is used as a supplement treatment for more acute cases where the patient is in a lot of pain.
